Northumberland Parent Carer Forum CIC (NPCF) is a Department for Education (DfE) recognised, Not-For-Profit Community Interest Company and local Parent Carer Forum, predominantly volunteer led, run by and for parents carers of children and young people (aged 0–25) with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) in Northumberland.

1. We Bring Families Together
We offer peer support, workshops, and open events, designed to connect parent carers with shared lived experiences.
2. We Listen to Your Voice
With over 9,000 children on the SEND register in Northumberland, we gather your experiences through surveys, meetings, and events to ensure your insight shapes services that matter .
3. We Influence Policy and Services
We work with Northumberland County Council, health and social care partners, and education providers, including as part of regional and national networks, to influence planning, design, and delivery of SEND services. Wherever possible, we work in coproduction to ensure meaningful changes and impact.
4. We Deliver Informative Workshops and Events
From conferences to wellbeing workshops and legal rights sessions, we host events that empower, inform, and connect communities.
5. We Collaborate Regionally and Nationally
NPCF is part of a wider regional network of Parent Carer Forums, working with North East colleagues and the National Network of Parent Carer Forums to elevate the voice of SEND families across the region and at national level.

- Anyone who cares for a child or young person (025) with SEND, in Northumberland is welcome to get involved, no longterm commitment needed. *No official diagnosis required
- You can join us to simply receive updates, participate in consultations, attend events, or become part of our steering management committee.
- Your input helps inform local services at every level, you are our most important asset.

Meet The Management Committee
The management committee is made up of a voluntary group of Northumberland parents and carers of children and young people (0-25) who have special educational needs and/or disabilities. We have 10 parent representatives who support in; Day to Day running of the Forum, Ad-Hoc Admin, Attending Strategic Meetings, Reporting and Organising/Delivering Workshops/Events.
